Student Council

Student Council work is important in St Joseph’s College as it provides opportunities for pupils to take on roles of responsibility and to become involved in real decision making. The Student Council also provides opportunities for pupils to develop leadership skills, becoming confident and active participants in the life of the college. Pupils and staff work together, to develop positive working relationships as they strive to improve the college as a learning community.

This year the Student Council have been busy and active representing the student body on a number of issues, for example, completing consultations on our merit system, the role of class prefects and our revised mobile phone policy, introduction of water fountains, working with the school canteen regarding food service, canvassing the ideas from their form classes regarding general school improvements etc. We look forward to our new Year 8 pupils representing their form classes, taking on roles of responsibility and becoming involved in the work of the student council.
